This has got to be one of the biggest months for BSD in a long time. Their biggest release of new products is upon us and they have just done a mini UK tour ‘Road to Rebel’, a five date, five skateparks tour as they hit the road from Scotland down to London for the Rebel Jam.
Rockcity Skatepark was one of the lucky skateparks to see the boys hit the town and more importantly hit the park.
Here is the ShootJMoore edit of the BSD Jam visit to Rockcity.
The boys were all rocking the new BSD products and to have all these fine machines rolling around the skatepark, showing off the high end paintwork and colours.
Particular highlights are a bunch of new tees and hoodies that are ‘cut from a better cloth’ than your average logo tee. The same colours from the soft goods have filtered through into the bike components.
BSD have ‘accessorized’ tyres, grips, seats and pedals using the same calm colours. These are very clever because you can change all the parts on your bike that wear the quickest and get a completely new look without having to pay for the big hitting parts like a frame or forks just to give your BMX a make over.
BSD told us that it was really difficult to get the tyres made in these colours but eventually got the job done.
The star of the show (what show?) has to be the new Alex D frame. This is set to become the most sort after BMX frame of 2015 here in the UK.
We were also stoked to see Dan Paley’s new pro grips too in this little lot. Dan, our local BSD pro, had a great ride at Rebel Jam and this boy just goes from strength to strength.
It’s probably not an accident that all this new stuff drops just in time for Christmas but its worth noting that ‘BMX is for life, not just Christmas’

Another exciting new addition to the Rockcity Climbing Centre is this dedicated kid’s bouldering area, The City Walls.
The city walls are Built to fend off the army of young climbers who have over the last few years been growing in numbers.
Hull’s historic and once impressive city walls have long been dismantled but now we have rebuilt a section that pays homage to the large east bank city walls and citadel commissioned by King Henry VIII in the 16th century.
Today it’s a very different story. The City Walls are here to keep young climbers in Rockcity, being specifically designed and built for small climbers. The boulder problems range from just under 2 metres in height to 4 metre high overhangs and everything in between.
Children as young as 3 years can now benefit from the new City Walls area. The wall is open to all Rockcity members who supervise their own children.
Or, if required, by parents wishing to do either our 1hr Family Taster Induction Session with our instructor, or one of our Young Climbers 1hr taster Sessions with one of our instructors to supervise your group of 6 young people. Both can be booked in advance at the cost of £50 for either session.

Hull Rockcity Comp 2014. a Skateboarding video by Sidewalk
When Scott Palmer calls, you better pick up the phone!
Having being summoned by The Don himself, the likes of James Foster, Ben Grove, Neil ‘The Legend’ Smith, Mark Baines, Mike Wright, Vaughan Jones, Gregoire Cuadrado and more head to the first annual Hull Rockcity Comp 2014. A great was had by everyone and a great turn out as well! Plenty of skaters jump in on the comp and we even had tons of people who came for a good day out spectating.
James Foster walked away as the best trick winner for his BS pop shov from our top level into a wall ride bank, absolutley crazy! You must see the footage if you haven’t already!
